Program Outcomes
Graduates will:
Gain command over the linguistic, literary, and stylistic aspects of Urdu.
Contribute meaningfully to education, culture, and research institutions.
Demonstrate critical awareness of Urdu’s historical and modern development.
Promote national unity through appreciation of Urdu as a shared cultural heritage.
Be equipped to teach and conduct research in Urdu and related disciplines.
Objectives:
The program develops a deep understanding of Urdu language, literature, and culture.
Students explore prose, poetry, and linguistic structures to appreciate Urdu’s contribution to social and national identity.
The course emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, and the ability to connect classical and modern literary trends.
Admission Eligibility Criteria
4 Years Program: Candidates with Intermediate certificate (minimum 45% marks) or A-Levels with equivalency certificate from IBCC Islamabad, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
2 Years Program: Candidates holding an Associate Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 45% marks or a 2.00 CGPA (out of 4.00) are eligible to apply.
2.5 Years Program: Candidates with a 14-year bachelor’s degree and at least 45% marks or CGPA 2.00 are eligible for admission (continuing from the 5th semester).
All candidates are required to pass an entry test or aptitude interview conducted by the University.
Director Message
